When I came across the invitation for the Terra Mater photo contest in February 2015, I decided to submit one particular image—taken, quite casually, with my iPhone 6 at the time (a detail I chose not to mention).
Out of several thousand submissions, the photo was ranked 12th. A result that came as a genuine surprise and a quiet reminder that it’s not always the camera that matters, but the moment, the eye, and the story behind the image.
